Technology fans, artists, makers, virtual reality enthusiasts and anyone interested in creative computing are invited to come experience Hewlett-Packard's latest 3-D Sprout technology Wednesday, June 8 from 2-8 p.m. at the Pensacola Library, 239 N. Spring St. HP is bringing leading industry experts to help launch West Florida Public Libraries' newest offering, "Sprouting Creativity," marking the first time the HP Sprout Truck has been to a library. The Sprout Truck has previously visited large-scale venues including Wizard World Comic Con, Anime Expo, World Maker Faire and Virginia Tech.
West Florida Public Libraries will have the largest installation to date of the new HP Sprout Pro workstations, one of the most unique creative computing experience at the forefront of the blended reality movement. A total of 18 HP Sprout Pro computers and nine 3-D scanner capture stages will be installed at WFPL – at least two workstations at each of the seven library locations. The 18 workstations are here to stay, but HP’s experts and the Sprout Truck will only be present at the June 8 event at the Pensacola Library. Join West Florida Public Libraries for an unforgettable hands-on experience, and let the experts inspire, amuse and amaze you during this special visit to Escambia County. The "Sprouting Creativity" initiative was partially funded by a grant received from the Panhandle Library Access Network.
