Pete Moore Chevrolet donated two new Chevrolet Colorado 4x4 rescue trucks to the Pensacola Beach Lifeguards Thursday afternoon, providing additional resources to continue improving safety and rescue operations on Pensacola Beach. The trucks mark the 11th and 12th vehicles donated by Pete Moore Chevrolet to the Pensacola Beach Lifeguards since 2004. Pensacola Beach Lifeguards performed nearly 600 water rescues last year, and the new vehicles will enable them to do their job even more efficiently. District 4 Commissioner and Chairman Grover Robinson thanked Pete Moore Thursday for his generosity and his active interest in making Pensacola Beach a safer place. "This is a wonderful beach; this is a wonderful asset to have here for all of our citizens and for our tourists who come here," Robinson said. "Great communities have great people, and we at Pensacola Beach are very fortunate to have Pete Moore, who has donated to make our public safety better."
Pete Moore Chevrolet has provided vehicles as part of the “Safe Shores” program, a multi-level beach safety campaign which Pete Moore Chevrolet and WEAR ABC-3 originated in April 2004. The continued goal of Safe Shores is to save lives and help educate the public on beach safety and dangerous surf conditions.
