ECAT Offers Free Beach Trolley, Summer Wheels Pass Programs

Escambia County Area Transit representatives announced that the system’s Free Pensacola Beach Trolley season and Summer Wheels Pass programs will launch on Memorial Day Weekend. These exciting programs include the free Beach Trolley service and free, unlimited rides for Summer Wheels Pass holders, ages 18 and under.

ECAT runs three beach trolleys provided by Santa Rosa Island Authority.  The Beach Trolley season starts on Friday, May 27.  The beach trolleys run sevens days a week, Monday through Thursday: 4 p.m. to midnight; on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: 11 a.m. to midnight. Beach trolley service is free and runs Memorial Day Weekend until Labor Day Weekend. While on the beach, forget about traffic, you can leave your car behind and ride the trolley from Ft. Pickens to Portofino. Just hop on at one of the 35 stops along the beach!

Through the Summer Wheels Program, area youth can enjoy the freedom to travel to any location that ECAT goes from Memorial Day to Labor Day with free, unlimited rides for ages 18 and under.  ECAT provides a way to explore Pensacola, travel to summer jobs, and participate in summer camps. ECAT also offers free training for those who are new to the system to help read the Ride Guide, plan trips, and review safety rules.
