The 3rd Annual Celebrating Brownsville Arts and Cultural Festival is Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3300 Mobile Highway across from the Brownsville Assembly of God Church. Hosted by the Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency and Artel Gallery, Celebrating Brownsville focuses on bringing art to the community in many forms:
- Annual Celebrating Brownsville Mural Competition, where art pieces are selected to be reproduced as building installations and exhibited on local buildings within the Brownsville area.
- The “Empowerment” Art Exhibition, an outdoor art exhibit featuring art work created by local artists ranging in age from elementary school students to adults and professionals.
- The Jam Challenge, where bands and performing artists compete for prizes.
The free community event also includes children’s activities, art demonstrations, live entertainment, informational booths and vendors like crafts and local food trucks, and more.
