The registration deadline for Celebrating Brownsville Arts and Cultural Festival participants is Tuesday, April 12, which includes artist entries, booths, art demonstrations, local vendors, volunteers and children’s activity hosts. Hosted by the Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency and Artel Gallery, the 3rd Annual Celebrating Brownsville Arts and Cultural Festival will take place Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3300 Mobile Highway across from the Brownsville Assembly of God Church. The event features free children’s activities, crafts, local booths, art demonstrations, food, live entertainment and more. Celebrating Brownsville will feature the “Empowerment” Art Exhibition, an outdoor art exhibit featuring work from local artists ranging in age from elementary school students to adult and professionals, and the Jam Challenge, where bands and performing artists will compete for prizes. Integral to the art exhibit is the annual Celebrating Brownsville Mural Competition, where art pieces are selected to be reproduced as building installations and exhibited on local buildings within the Brownsville area.
