Limited Services Available During Software Upgrade

On Thursday, March 31, at noon, the Escambia County Building Department will begin an upgrade to the current permitting software.  This upgrade will not allow use of the system beginning at noon, Thursday, March 31 and ending Monday, April 4 at 8 a.m.  We ask that you plan accordingly if you have a project that will require permits during this time.

  • Plan Intake, Permitting, Contractor Licensing and BID’s Investigation Sections will be staffed for limited manual log-in of plans and drop off of permit applications (Trust Account or Credit Card only) on Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1.  All Sections will be open for business as usual on Monday, April 4 beginning at 8 a.m.
  • Development Services will be for open on Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; application intake will be limited.
  • Code Enforcement will be for open on Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; however new code enforcement cases will not be entered or assigned to an Officer until Monday, April 4.
  • BID’s Online Contractor and Citizen Access and the Automated Inspection Voice Response (IVR) System will be offline beginning Thursday, March 31 at noon and remain offline through Monday, April 4 at 8 a.m.  Contractors who pay by Trust Account or credit card are encouraged to email permits and payment information to [email protected].  These permit applications will be processed as early as possible on Monday, April 4.

During this time, inspection requests for Friday, March 31 and Monday, April 4 may be requested in the following manner:

  • To schedule inspections, the option to email inspection requests is available at [email protected] AND BID’s Voicemail Inspection Line ((850) 595-3592) will also be available.  Please ensure that all inspection requests include a permit number, job address, type of inspection requested, contact name and telephone number. 
  • If you are scheduling multiple inspection requests (more than 2) at one time, please fax the request to BID at (850) 595-3401 and include permit numbers, job addresses, types of inspection requested, contact names and telephone numbers.  You may also email the multiple inspection request(s) to [email protected].
