Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency and Artel Gallery announce the 3rd Annual Celebrating Brownsville Arts and Cultural Festival Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3300 Mobile Highway across from the Brownsville Assembly of God Church. The event features free children’s activities, crafts, local booths, art demonstrations, food, live entertainment and more. Celebrating Brownsville will feature the “Empowerment” Art Exhibition, an outdoor art exhibit featuring art work created by local artists ranging in age from elementary school students to adult and professionals and the Jam Challenge, where bands and performing artists will compete for prizes.
Integral to the art exhibit is the annual Celebrating Brownsville Mural Competition, where art pieces are selected to be reproduced as building installations and exhibited on local buildings within the Brownsville area. Artists of all ages are asked to submit their entries by Tuesday, April 12 using the correct category registration form found at www.myescambia.com/Brownsville. Property owners within the Brownsville area who wish to host a building installation should contact the Community Redevelopment Agency at (850) 595-3217.
Registration is open until Tuesday, April 12 for artist entries, artist booths, art demonstrations, local vendors, volunteers and children activity hosts. Registration is free but space is limited.
