Lifeguards Return to Towers Tomorrow

Published Feb 29, 2016

Pensacola Beach Lifeguards return to their towers on Tuesday, March 1 for the 2016 season. Initially one to three towers at Casino Beach will be manned from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week and starting Sunday, March 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. As summer approaches, staffing will increase providing coverage at up to 10 towers, including the towers at the Gulf Island National Seashore which are staffed starting Memorial Day weekend.

When visiting Pensacola Beach residents and visitors are asked to exercise caution and use common sense, including heeding the warnings of beach flags. Beach conditions can be checked at http://pensacolabeachlifeguards.com  and on Facebook at /PensacolaBeachLifeguards.

Fifty lifeguards are trained and ready for the 2016 season, but approximately 20 more are needed for the season.
