Perdido Key Master Plan

Project Summary

The Perdido Key Master Plan is based on public input, planning initiatives, existing development, physical and environmental characteristics, and social and economic conditions. It is a comprehensive document that guides development and future growth of the community; it includes analysis, recommendations and proposals for housing, transportation, facilities, land use and economy.

The Plan helps decision makers maintain a balance between protection and conservation and growth and development. The information contained in the plan is intended to guide decisions related to public and private use of land and public facilities in a manner compatible with the land’s character and adaptability, thus promoting good stewardship of resources.

The Perdido Key Master Plan process timeline:

  • Pre-Charrette Analysis: July - September 2015
  • Charrette: 6-9 October 2015
  • Draft report submitted: 1 December 2015
  • Planning Board Workshop, Perdido Key Master Plan Update: 16 February 2016
  • First Zoning and PK Overlay Workshop: 16 February 2016
  • Planning Board Hearing: March 2016
  • BOCC adoption: Spring 2016 (Adopting Perdido Key Master Plan & regulations)
