Second and Third Green Lights Replaced on Fire Safety Wreath

Escambia County Fire Rescue responded to multiple fire incidents on Saturday, Dec. 5, resulting in the second and third green lights being replaced for the "Keep the Wreath Green" fire safety campaign.

The first incident was a reported structure fire at the 900 block of Paulding Ave., with the first 911 call received at 7:28 a.m. Crews on scene noted smoke showing from a single-wide mobile home, and the fire was brought under control at 7:37 a.m. The trailer received moderate damage and had to have the power secured at the meter. The residents of the home have been displaced. The incident is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Escambia County Fire Rescue also responded to a reported residential structure fire at the 7500 block of Sandy Creek Dr. at 5:55 p.m. An engine from the Warrington Fire Station (16) arrived on scene, with a single-story wood frame structure on fire. The fire was brought under control at 6:52 p.m. The cause of the fire was due to an unattended candle that resulted in major damage and had to have the power secured at the meter. The residents of the home have been displaced.
