-Cloudy skies as a hornet flies over the Escambia County Central Office Complex wins a spot in FAC calendar-
Escambia County is featured in the Florida Association of Counties 2016 Calendar: Awesome Weather. The calendar theme was chosen by FAC members in the month of July and a photo submission contest was held in the month of August. Escambia's submission was taken by Mollie Taylor and features cloudy skies as a hornet flies over the Escambia County Central Office Complex, which features a 33,160-square-foot green roof, the largest in the State of Florida.
Over the summer, FAC members were asked to choose a theme for the 2016 FAC Calendar. The vote was overwhelmingly for Awesome Weather. Following the selection of a theme, Florida’s 67 counties were asked to submit their best photos of the awesome weather in their county – more than 400 photos were submitted. From the submissions fifteen were selected for the 2016 FAC Calendar.
The fifteen photos chosen to represent fifteen different counties and the great variety of awesome weather we see in Florida every day. They include:
