Resurfacing Project Begins on Gulf Beach Highway

Resurfacing begins the week of Nov. 2 on State Road 292 (Gulf Beach Highway/Barrancas Avenue ) from Merritt Street to South 3rd Street in Escambia County. 

Additional improvements include roadway widening, signalization upgrades, drainage improvements and sidewalk construction. Drivers can expect intermittent and alternating day and nighttime lane closures. The projected is estimated to be complete fall 2016.

All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the posted speed limit when traveling through the construction area. They are also reminded to use caution while driving in a work zone.
