West African Kora Music by Sean Gaskell
Come hear the soothing sounds of this 21-stringed, West African instrument. Mr. Gaskell hails from Asheville, NC, but has performed at festivals in the US, Gambia and Senegal.
Group Hug presents The Dogwood Dulcimers
Join us as we show support and appreciation for our community’s organizations. In November we will listen to the sweet tunes of the Dogwood Dulcimers.

Come day dream with us at this book club which features popular fiction meant to distract readers from the daily chores of life. This month we will read “The Witness†by Nora Roberts.

American Girl Book Club
Girls ages 7 to 13 will receive the book “Meet Kaya†and explore her world of Native America through crafts, games and activities. Space is limited. To register, please call (850) 453-7780.
R.E.A.D. to Dogs
Build confidence in literacy skills while reading to our canine partners who are certified therapy dogs. Sessions are free but registration is requested. Call Tryon Branch Library at (850) 471-6980 to reserve your half-hour time slot.

Our free computer classes utilize desktop PCs and run Microsoft Windows 7 Professional.
Pensacola Library
Word 2010 Basics
Patrons will learn to create a document using Microsoft Word 2010. We will explore tools on Microsoft’s Ribbon, like Spell Check and Grammar Check as well as review how to print and save documents.
Basic Skills I
Students will be introduced to individual components of a computer along with basic keyboard and mouse skills.
PowerPoint for Beginners
Participants will receive an introduction to the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint. They will learn to add and change backgrounds, text and objects in a computerized slide show.
Publisher 2010 Basics
Attendees will learn how to create flyers, personalized greeting cards and more using Microsoft Publisher 2010.
Excel 2010 Basics
Students new to Microsoft Excel will learn how to navigate around a spreadsheet and learn basic formatting skills.
Basic Computer Skills II
Participants new to Microsoft Windows 7 will become familiar with the environment and learn to navigate between different programs.

Crafts for All Ages
Thanksgiving Coloring Contest
Children ages 11 and under may pick up a coloring sheet and entry form starting Monday, November 2. Color the lively Thanksgiving turkey and return him to the Molino Library by Saturday, November 21 for a chance to win a prize. Winners will be announced on Monday, November 23.
Make n' Take
Youth ages 8 and up are invited to build a model. Please sign up at the Children's Desk, as space is limited. This program is sponsored by the Pensacola Modeleers and the Friends of West Florida Public Library.
Teen Craft Day - Glass Drop Magnets
Make our own glass drop magnets with us and take them home. This program is intended for teens, ages 12 to 17.
Potpourri
Capture the scent of the season in a jar. We’ll make potpourri from apples, lemons, oranges, and spices and put them in a jar to simmer later. All ages are welcome.

Yarn Clubs
Twisted Stitchers Yarn Club
Join the Twisted Stitchers as we knit and crochet at the library. Bring your supplies and an ongoing project as we pay if forward with a secret holiday project.
Loopy Loomers
Come knit and crochet with the Westside Loopy Loomers. All skill levels are welcome to join in the creation of hats and scarves for the residents at Southern Oaks Nursing Home. Please bring your own supplies, but if you are new, we can get you started with our own.
Really Knit Stuff
Knit and crochet at the library. All levels of experience from beginners to advanced are welcome. Come help pay it forward by bringing yarn to make lap blankets for guests of the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Florida. If you have knitting and crochet needles, bring them too.

Wisdom of Myth: Myths of the Cave, Atlantis and the Afterlife
In ancient Athens, the Greek philosopher Plato sought to diminish the role of myth in favor of reason. Paradoxically, he presented a number of mythic stories in his dialogues. Why? Come to this adult program presented by Scott Davis and explore selected myths from several of Plato’s Dialogues to learn where our stories of Atlantis are based. Mr. Davis earned his Master’s degree in humanities, religious studies and philosophy and occasionally teaches at UWF.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Hunter’s Safety Course: Skills Day
This is a Skills Day, part two of the Hunter’s Safety Course. Those interested must preregister at http://myfwc.com/hunting/safety-education, then click on Hunter Safety Courses. Please follow directions under Option 2. While participants ages 12 to adult are invited, youth under 16 must have a parent present.
