Road Closure Notice: Myrtle Grove Design Build Sidewalk Project

The following road(s) will have a closure and detour implemented beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20, to construct improvements associated with underground stormwater system installation on 65th Avenue just north of W. Jackson Street. The road closure and detour notice is due to stormwater system construction, per the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners.

  • 65th Avenue closure and detour: 65th Avenue closure between Chelsea Street and W. Jackson Street will be implemented beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20, between the hours of 6 p. m. and 7 a.m. The closure will be implemented each night between the above-referenced times until storm system crossing 65th Avenue is complete.
  • Eastbound motorist on W. Jackson Street will be detoured from 65th Avenue north onto 61st Avenue west on Lillian Highway south back to 65th Avenue north of the closure.
  • Westbound motorist on W. Jackson Street will be detoured from 65th Avenue north onto 68th Avenue east onto Chelsea Street back to 65th Avenue north of the closure.
  • Southbound motorist on 65th Avenue will be detoured from 65th Avenue west onto Chelsea Street then south onto 68th Avenue back to W. Jackson Street south of the closure.
  • Northbound motorist on 65th Avenue will be detoured from 65th Avenue west onto W. Jackson Street north onto 68th Avenue and east onto Chelsea Street back to 65th Avenue north of the closure.
