County Employees Team Up for Annual United Way Day of Caring

Published Oct 16, 2015

Nearly 100 Escambia County employees rolled up their sleeves and volunteered in support of today's United Way Day of Caring. This year's volunteers had the chance to work on a variety of projects at several locations throughout the County, including Longleaf Elementary School, Global Learning Academy and Capstone Adaptive Learning & Therapy Centers, Inc.

Each year, the one-day event gives participants an opportunity to learn about the needs of the community while helping a nonprofit agency or school. United Way matches groups and individuals with agencies and local schools to spend the day volunteering on various projects. The volunteer work includes indoor and/or outdoor projects, working directly with clients, hosting a collection drive, painting facilities, landscaping and more.
