UF/IFAS Extension to Host Master Gardeners Fall Garden Festival

Residents are invited to join Escambia County Extension Master Gardeners on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 8 a.m. to noon for outdoor gardening activities and how-to demonstrations. The festival is located at the Escambia County Extension office (3740 Stefani Road). The day’s events include turning basil into pesto, saving your tender plants for spring planting and planting and pruning techniques. Attendees can view demonstrations on bog gardening, making stepping stones, rain barrel basics, winterizing tools and exotic as well as winter vegetable gardening. 

McGuire’s Pipe Band will provide entertainment. Also, the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida will be bringing some of their wildlife and will accept donations in support of their rehabilitation efforts.
