Escambia and Santa Rosa County Traffic Alert

Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, September 11, on the following state roads in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.

  • U.S. 98 between the Pensacola Bay Bridge and the Gulf Breeze Zoo in Santa Rosa County, Tuesday, September 8, through Thursday, September 10, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Crews will pave, make minor roadway repairs and perform shoulder widening.
  • Eastbound Interstate 10 (I-10) between the Escambia Bay Bridge and State Road 281 (Avalon Boulevard) in Santa Rosa County, will encounter alternating lane closures Tuesday, September 8, through Thursday, September 10. Lane closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. as crews place asphalt.
  • State Road 4 from County Road 87A to the Okaloosa County line. Crews will be paving side streets at various locations through the project limits from Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, September 11. There will be alternating lane restrictions from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Traffic flaggers will be onsite to assist with traffic control.
  • Interstate 110 from I-10 to Maxwell Street (Exit 3). Operation will require slow moving vehicles as crews replace reflective pavement markers from 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, September 9.
  • I-10 from Alabama state line to Davis Highway (Exit 13). Operation will require slow moving vehicles as crews replace reflective pavement markers from 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, to 5 a.m. Thursday, September 10.

Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone. All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather.
