Published Sep 3, 2015

The Building Inspections Department will be updating the Accela system software Friday, September 4, 2015.  Beginning at 2:30 p.m. all access to Accela will be blocked until the update is complete, most likely by late Friday night. Anyone who has signed up for email notices from Building Inspections will receive notice once the update has been successfully completed and users are able to get back into the system, including access to the Online Citizen Access (ACA).

This update applies to:

  • Plan Intake, Permitting, Contractor Licensing and BID’s Investigations Sections, beginning at 2:30 p.m., will be unable to process permit applications, log in plans or renew contractor licenses. These sections will be open for business on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
  • The Online Citizen Access (ACA) will also be offline beginning at 2:30 p.m.
  • The Development Services Department's Planning & Zoning, Land Use Management and Addressing sections will be unable to process zoning and land use management applications. These sections will be open for business on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.

Alternatively:

  • BID’s Voicemail Inspection at (850) 595-3592 will be available to call and schedule inspections until the ACA is back online Friday night. Please ensure that all inspection requests include a permit number, job address, type of inspection requested, contact name and telephone number. Inspections will be scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2015, due to the holiday.
  • If you are scheduling multiple inspection requests (more than 2), please email the inspection request to [email protected] and include permit numbers, job addresses, types of inspection requested, contact names and telephone numbers.  Inspections will be scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2015, due to the holiday.
  • Also, all County Offices will be closed Monday, September 7, 2015, in observance of Labor Day. Any inspection scheduled on Friday for the next working day will be scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
