Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT) recently announced the launch of this year’s free Pensacola Beach Trolley season and the Student Summer Wheels programs.
The Beach Trolley season kicked off on Friday, May 22, with ECAT running three beach trolleys provided by Santa Rosa Island Authority. Service is free and runs seven days a week from 4 p.m. to midnight until Labor Day.
Through the Student Summer Wheels Program, area youth age 17 and younger can enjoy the freedom to travel to any location that ECAT goes from now until Labor Day, with unlimited rides for just $25. ECAT provides a way to explore Pensacola, travel to summer jobs and participate in summer camps, while also offering free training for those who are new to the system to help read the Ride Guide, plan trips and review safety rules.
ECAT is also partnering with local businesses to offer a scavenger hunt for Student Summer Wheels Pass holders. Students can travel to the following participating locations to receive a stamp using their ECAT summer stamp card:
- TT Wentworth Museum
- Blue Wahoos Stadium
- Pensacola Museum of Art
- Naval Aviation Museum
- Cordova Lanes
- Glow Golf – Cordova Mall
- Sam’s Fun City
- ECAT office
Once a stamp has been collected from each location, the card can be returned to ECAT for a prize. To purchase a Student Summer Wheels Pass, bring your kids (along with photo IDs) to ECAT’s main office, located at 1515 W. Fairfield Drive, during business hours.
