Night Work Planned on State Roads in Escambia County

The following is an update on Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects scheduled in Escambia County.

  • Eastbound Interstate 10 (I-10) lanes will be restricted east of the State Road 95 (U.S. 29/ Exit 10B) on ramp from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, as crews perform construction activities.
  • ?U.S. 98 traffic will encounter lane restrictions between State Road (S.R.) 295 (New Warrington Road) and S.R. 173 (Blue Angel Parkway) as crews perform routine maintenance work along the shoulders and medians. Lane closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27. 
  • Eastbound I-10 traffic across the Escambia Bay Bridge will encounter minor delays from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, as crews perform routine maintenance work. This will be a mobile operation. 
  • Northbound S.R. 291 (Davis Highway) traffic just south of Airport Boulevard will encounter lane restrictions from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, as crews perform construction activities in the roadway.
  • Eastbound I-10 traffic will encounter lane restrictions across the Escambia River Bridge from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, to 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, as crews perform deck repairs.  

All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to travel with care through the work zone, especially at night, and to watch for construction equipment and traffic flaggers entering and exiting the roadway.
