Night Work Planned on State Roads in Escambia County

Traffic on State Road (S.R.) 173 (Blue Angel Parkway) will encounter lane closures between County Road 292A (Gulf Beach Highway) and S.R. 292 (Sorrento Road) in Escambia County. Crews will be repairing and cleaning bridge joints on the Bayou Grande and Marquis Bayou bridges from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, May 18, and Tuesday, May 19.   

Crews will pave at the intersection of U.S. 98 and the Naval Hospital entrance on Wednesday, May 20. Westbound U.S. 98 traffic at the Naval Hospital entrance will encounter lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The entrance to the Naval Hospital will be closed during paving operations and rerouted to the back gate.  

Crews will also be performing bridge joint work on the S.R. 752 (Texar Drive) bridge located over the railroad on Wednesday, May 20, with lane restrictions in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.  

All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to travel with care through the work zone, especially at night, and to watch for construction equipment and traffic flaggers entering and exiting the roadway.
