Carver Park Resource Center Ribbon Cutting May 18

Published May 12, 2015

The Escambia County Parks & Recreation Department will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Carver Park (208 Webb Street, Cantonment) on Monday, May 18, at 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, with children and families encouraged to attend. Food and beverages will be provided.

Improvements to Carver Park include a renovated community resource center, enlarged parking lot, volleyball court and restriped basketball court. The park will also soon feature a new pavilion for family and local events.

Located in District 5, the $120,000 redesign of the park began in 2014, funded by the County’s Local Option Sales Tax (LOST III). The Local option Sales Tax currently funds many County-wide projects and initiatives, including recreational, community redevelopment, infrastructure, public facilities and natural resource preservation.
