Dump Dash 5K Rescheduled for May 9

The Dump Dash 5K race, originally scheduled for April 25, has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2015. The original date was postponed due to inclement weather. 

Come out to the Perdido Landfill and Perdido Riverwalk on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 9 a.m. to enjoy the unique Dump Dash 5K. This run goes across meadows, landfill roads, hills and ponds. This is a chance to get an up close look at where your garbage goes, the importance of recycling in the community and the chance to help your community. A portion of each entry will go to the United Way of Escambia County and the Environmental Education Fund which helps fund field trips to the Perdido Landfill and other activities for school kids in Escambia County.

The race includes categories for:

  • First Place Runner, male and female
  • First Place Walker, male and female
  • First Place Fun Run, male and female
  • Fastest Team (team average)
  • Largest Team
  • Best ReUse Running Costume!

School teams of 10 or more can be registered for no charge for the fun run. The Fun Run will have winning categories for fastest team and individual fastest male and female. To register as a team, contact Dee Dee Green at [email protected] or (850) 937-2159.

This will be a great day for family fun!

Register at the Perdido Landfill Administration Office through May 8 at 4 p.m. or the Escambia County United Way (1301 Government Street) through May 8 at noon.

Early registration is $15 and Day-of-race registration is $20.

You must register by May 6 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Packet pickup and Race Day Registration will be at the Perdido River Walk from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m.
