The 2nd Annual Celebrating Brownsville Festival featuring the “For the Love of Brownsville” Juried Art Exhibition will take place on Saturday, April 25, from noon-4 p.m. at 3300 Mobile Highway in Pensacola. In the event of rain, the event will be held at the Brownsville Community Center located at 3100 West Desoto Street.
This community arts event will also feature an art show, local artists, crafters, food, children’s activities and live performances. First City Arts Center will host a pottery wheel workshop for ages 4 through adult. Also, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office K9 unit will host a K9 Meet and Greet allowing attendees to meet the dogs and observe obedience demonstrations.
Blues band Cat Rhodes and the Truth will perform multiple times throughout the day, as well as local, Brownsville band Madd Happy, the Belmont Youth Band and the Maintenance Men.
This event serves as a revitalization effort to support the Brownsville Redevelopment District. Come enjoy the art and entertainment and support this community redevelopment initiative.
Don’t miss the unveiling of the winning artwork from the “For the Love of Brownsville” Juried Art Exhibition at 2 p.m. on the day of the event. Selected artwork will be reproduced and installed on the streets of Brownsville.
