CORRECTION: Area Teams Fare Well at Odyssey of the Mind Competition

Published Mar 2, 2015

Commissioner Doug Underhill extends his congratulations to Escambia County's Odyssey of the Mind teams for their awesome performances at the Regional Competition in Crestview last weekend. Helen Caro Elementary, in their first year competing, won the very rare Ranatra Fusca Award, given for exceptional creativity well beyond the competition, and will be representing the region at State Competition.

The PATS Center, a perennial powerhouse in Odyssey of the Mind, had one team earn 3rd place and three teams take second place. Two of those teams will be going on to Orlando to represent the panhandle in State Competition.

A group of PATS Center Alumni started an Odyssey of the Mind Team this year at Booker T. Washington High School, the first-ever high school team from Escambia County. Earning second place honors this past weekend, the Booker T. Washington team will be going on to compete in the State Finals at the University of Central Florida in Orlando on April 11th.
