TABE Testing

GED Classes

·         Weekly on Monday and Thursday, 6 p.m. – Molino Branch

Students need to take the TABE and fill out the online application to enroll: http://bit.ly/1q5WAK9. Cost for GED class is $30 per semester. Semesters run the same as Escambia County Schools.

 

Saturday Chess Club

Computer Classes for Adults

 

Main Library

·         Facebook Basics – Tuesday, January 6 – 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This workshop is designed for beginners who would like to learn how to create a Facebook profile, add and remove friends and upload photos.

·         Basic Computer Skills I – Wednesday, January 7 – 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This class will introduce participants to the components of a computer along with basic keyboard and mouse skills.

·         Word 2010 Basics – Saturday, January 10 – 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This class is designed for participants to create a document by learning the basics of Word 2010. The use of ribbons; spelling and grammar check; saving work and how to print the document will also be reviewed.

·         Transferring Photos – Tuesday, January 13 – 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Participants will learn to move photos from their phone, camera or tablet to the computer.  Reminder:  bring your device and cords.

·         Word 2010: Beyond Basics – Saturday, January 17, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This workshop will cover creating tables and newsletters along with inserting WordArt, pictures and clip art.

·         Word 2010 Basics – Tuesday, January 20 – 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This class is designed for participants to create a document by learning the basics of Word 2010.  The use of ribbons; spelling and grammar check; saving work and how to print the document will also be reviewed.

·         Basic Computer Skills II – Wednesday, January 21 – 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This workshop will introduce participants to the Windows environment including navigating between different programs.

·         Excel 2010 Basics – Saturday, January 24 – 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This class is for those who are new to Excel.  Attendees will learn how to navigate around a spreadsheet and learn basic formatting skills.

·         Word 2010: Beyond Basics – Saturday, January 27, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This workshop will cover creating tables and newsletters along with inserting WordArt, pictures and clip art.

·         Introduction to the Internet – Wednesday, January 28 – 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Participants will learn the basics of exploring the internet, navigation, browsers and internet safety.

·         PowerPoint for Beginners – Saturday, January 31 – 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This class will be an introduction to the basics of PowerPoint.  Participants will learn to add and change the background, text and objects in a computerized slide show.

 

Century Branch

·         Basic Computer Skills I – Thursday, January 8 – 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
