Mahogany Mill Boat Ramp - Environmental Project of 2014

Published Jan 9, 2015

The Northwest Chapter of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals has selected the Mahogany Mill Boat Ramp as the Environmental Project of 2014.

On Wednesday, June 25, Escambia County and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Mahogany Mill Historic Park and Boat Ramp.

Following the official groundbreaking in January 2013, this project began using Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) funding from BP with joint construction led by the FDEP, administered by Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency and construction managed by the Engineering Department. Funding for design and engineering services for this ramp was provided by the Florida Boating Improvement Program using the Sport Fish Restoration Program from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

For more information, on this project or other boat ramps in Escambia County please contact the Escambia County Community and Environment Department at (850) 595-3496.
