FDOT to Hold Public Hearing on Improvements for 9th Avenue at Creighton Road

Published Nov 14, 2014

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing concerning proposed intersection improvements to 9th Avenue at Creighton Road on Tuesday, November 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 5725 North 9th Avenue, Pensacola.

FDOT proposes to add an additional northbound left-turn lane with a raised traffic separator on 9th Avenue at the intersection with Creighton Road. Improvements include widening, milling and resurfacing the existing lanes, minor drainage upgrades, sidewalk construction and improvements to curb ramps and pedestrian signal features to meet current standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The purpose of this hearing is to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the project. The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m. with a formal presentation scheduled at 6 p.m. Maps, drawings, and other project information will be on display. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss the proposed improvements, answer questions and receive comments.
