Escambia County Parks and Recreation’s Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park will host the Pensacola Sports Association (PSA) and University of West Florida’s (UWF) 2014 Gulf South Conference Men's and Women's Soccer Championships the weekend. This will make the seventh year the tournament has been held at Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park, 10370 Ashton Brosnaham Road, Pensacola.
Matches start on Friday, November 7, and run through Sunday, November 9. Four semifinal games will be played on Friday, November 7, and the Conference championships on Sunday, November 9. Tickets will be available at the gate $5 per day or $8 for a weekend pass.
Gulf South Conference is made up of:
- Christian Brothers University
- Delta State University
- Lee University
- Mississippi College
- Shorter University
- Spring Hill College
- University of Alabama - Huntsville
- University of West Alabama
- University of West Florida
- Union University
Gulf South Conference semifinal tournament seeds will be announced later today. In the event, the UWF men’s and women’s team make the tournament, they’ll be the defending conference champions two years running.
“We are very pleased to have collaborated with the Pensacola Sports Association and the University of West Florida over the last seven years to bring the Gulf South Conference Soccer Championships to Escambia County,” said Escambia County Parks and Recreation Director Michael Rhodes. This tournament has been a great event to host at Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park and we have enjoyed hosting all of the collegiate teams, administration, family and fans. We are looking forward to another weekend of great college soccer and invite all our area soccer fans to come and watch.”
