The Florida Department of Transportation has announced the following lane closures that will take place the week of September 22, 2014.
Motorists can expect intermittent and alternating daytime lane closures on State Road 292 (Perdido Key Drive) between River Road and the Florida/Alabama State line in Escambia County beginning Monday, Sept. 22. Traffic flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. Construction activities to relocate underground utilities and construct four wildlife crossings began earlier this month. The $588,926 project is expected to be complete November 2014.
Drivers using State Road (S.R.) 742 (Creighton Road) between S.R. 291 (Davis Highway) and S.R. 10A (Scenic Highway) in Escambia County may encounter minor delays Monday, Sept. 22 and Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. as crews perform roadway testing. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area and to use caution when driving in work zones.
Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are reminded to use caution when traveling through the work zone. All planned activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
