Community-Based Watersheds Meeting a Success

Published Sep 12, 2014

Co-hosted by Escambia County and the City of Pensacola, a community-based meeting regarding Perdido Bay and Pensacola Bay watersheds was held Wednesday, September 10. The purpose of the meeting was to review projects needed to address plans within the watersheds of the Perdido Bay and Pensacola Bay.

Conceptualized by Escambia County and considered a great success, the watershed concept has been accepted by State of Florida and National Fish and Wildlife Federation (NFWF) as the project screening process for NFWF granted projects and is now spreading across the Panhandle and down to the Springs Coast.

Attached is a picture of a working group from Escambia County; Santa Rosa County; Okaloosa County; Baldwin County, Alabama; as well as federal and state agencies and nongovernmental organizations.
