  • Westside Branch has closed its Cervantes Street location and will soon reopen at its new location, the Legion Field Neighborhood Resource Center, 1301 West Gregory Street, Pensacola. A grand reopening celebration will be announced at a later date.

Reoccurring and Ongoing June Events

Art Exhibit

  • Monday, June 2, to Saturday, August 30 – Molino Branch

Paintings and pottery of artist Joyce T. Bennick will be on display June 2 to August 30 at the Molino Branch during its regular business hours.

Blind Date With a Book

  • Monday, June 2, to Saturday, August 30 – Tryon Branch

In the Tryon Branch’s Teen Study Room, choose from the Blind Date With a Book display (books wrapped in brown paper with short descriptions on the outside) for a new book to read.  When you have read the book, write your opinion of the book or a short review (1-2 lines) on the inside of the book and return it to the display and repeat as desired.

Book Discussion Group

  • Monday, June 23, 6 to 7 p.m. – Molino Branch

This is the first scheduled meeting for this group and a book to read will be selected.

Books to Film Club

  • Tuesday, June 24, 6 to 7 p.m. – Tryon Branch

This group is for those who enjoy reading books and watching the movie it is based on. The Books to Film Club meets on the last Tuesday of the month. For more information call the Tryon Branch at (850) 471-6980.

Escambia County After School Art Students Exhibit

  • Saturday, June 1, to Saturday, August 30 – Southwest Branch

View this exhibit featuring art work from local Escambia County students of Jim C. Bailey Middle School and Blue Angel Elementary School during Southwest Branch hours June 1 to August 30. For more information: http://www.artoftalis.com/.

Family Game Night

  • Weekly on Monday, 6 to 7:30 p.m. – Main Library

All ages are welcome to participate in Family Game Night.

Kids: R.E.A.D. to the Dogs

  • Monthly on the third Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Tryon Branch
  • Monthly on the fourth Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Southwest Branch

The Kids: Reading Educational Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program can improve your child’s reading skills by practicing reading to therapy dogs.

Hot Reads: Adult Summer Reading

  • Weekly on Friday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. – Main Library

Adults in this summer program will keep a reading journal and enjoy various types of books from mysteries to literary.

Summer Make ‘n’ Take

  • Monthly on the third Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Main Library

Children ages and up are welcome to build a model Camaro with the Pensacola Modeleers.
