Sorrento Road Public Hearing Tuesday, May 13

In coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Escambia County will conduct a public hearing for proposed improvements to Sorrento Road (State Road 292) on Tuesday, May 13, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Perdido Bay Community Center, 13660 Innerarity Point Road, Pensacola.

Proposed improvements include widening Sorrento Road from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway for approximately 5.3 miles.  Additional improvements will include stormwater collection and treatment, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, intersection improvements and access management changes.

The purpose of the hearing is to allow interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the project. The hearing will be conducted in an open house format and a formal presentation is scheduled for 6 p.m. Representatives will be available to explain proposed improvements, answer questions and receive comments. Maps, drawings and other information will be on display.  

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
