Be Ready for Severe Weather

Published Apr 28, 2014

Escambia County is preparing for a severe weather front that will be moving through the region beginning this evening. Forecasters are calling for heavy rains which could cause localized flooding.

Escambia County’s Public Safety, Roads Division and Public Works Department will be monitoring the situation closely, ready to respond as needed.

Residents and visitors in Escambia County are asked to pay extra attention to local weather reports until the storm has moved through the area.

In the event of a roadway covered by water, drivers are should not attempt to drive through a flooded road, as water depth may be misleading. The road bed may be washed out under the water, and you could be stranded or trapped.
