Lane Closures Planned for Scenic Highway and I-10 Next Week

The northbound lane of U.S. 90 (Scenic Highway) from Whisper Way to the Scenic Highway overpass in Escambia County will be closed Monday, March 31, through Friday, April 4, from 8:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. 

During the closure, traffic will only be allowed in one direction at a time. A pilot vehicle and flagmen will be used to safely escort traffic through the work zone.  The closures will allow crews to perform temporary widening and striping.

In addition, the inside lanes of I-10 east and westbound, near the Scenic Highway overpass, will be closed Monday, March 31, through Friday, April 4, from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The closures will allow crews to install temporary barrier wall in the median. Law enforcement will be on site to assist with traffic control.

The I-10 and Scenic Highway widening project began in November 2013 and is scheduled for completion in fall 2016.
