Escambia County Animal Services Seeks Donations

Escambia County is committed to working in partnership with the community to create a safe, healthy and caring environment for both citizens and animals. We promote citizen safety, responsible pet ownership and education in the reduction of animal over population.

If you are looking to make a positive impact in the lives of local cats and dogs, the Escambia County Animal Shelter seeks donations year round and serves as a temporary home to animals available for adoption, as well as a community resource for *low cost spay and neutering.

The Animal Shelter accepts online donations to help offset the care and feeding of our animals. will open a page on PayPal.com where you can donate using either a PayPal account or a major credit card. After completing the transaction, PayPal will e-mail you a receipt for the donation.

Supplies most commonly needed at the Animal Shelter include:

  • Dry food for puppies, dogs, kittens and cats (preferred brands are Iams and Purina)
  • Dog/cat treats
  • Dog/cat toys
  • Pet sweaters
  • Leashes and collars
  • Towels
  • Paper towels
  • Bleach
  • Coconut oil
  • Quilting batting
  • Flea medications
  • Honey

About the *Low Cost Spay and Neuter Program

Help us reduce the huge numbers of animals that end up in our shelter every week by having all of your pets spayed or neutered. If your total household income is below $35,000, you may qualify.

Bring the following items in order to set up your appointment:

  1. Proof of household income (pay stubs, Social Security documents, etc.)
  2. Proof of residency (utility bill, lease papers, etc.)
  3. Current state issued ID (drivers’ license, etc.)
  4. Proof of rabies vaccine (plus any other vaccines given in the last 6 months)
  5. Bring in your animal for a pre-surgical exam (no charge)

Payment is due when setting up your appointment.

Spay/Neuter Prices

  • Male cat: $10
  • Female cat: $20
  • Male dog: $15
  • Female dog under 40 pounds: $25
  • Female dog more than 40 pounds: $30
