West Detroit Boulevard Road Work to Begin November 12

Beginning Tuesday, November 12, as part of the Ensley Area Improvements project, West Detroit Boulevard in Escambia County will close to accommodate new alignment, utility and drainage updates.

The road closure and detour is per the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners and the project is scheduled for completion July 2014.

Detours:

  • West Detroit Boulevard will be closed to eastbound through traffic with a marked detour route directing motorists to Dudley Avenue (northbound) then to West Johnson Avenue (eastbound) to North Palafox Street.
  • Northbound traffic on North Palafox Street will have a marked detour route directing motorists to West Johnson Avenue (westbound) to Dudley Avenue (southbound) to West Detroit Boulevard.
  • Southbound traffic on North Palafox Street will have a marked detour route directing motorists to Jones Street (westbound) to Dudley Street (westbound) back to West Detroit Boulevard.
