District 5 ECUA Sanitary Sewer Overflow

A Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) occurred yesterday evening at the corner of Carmody Hill Road and Highway 297A.  The 2-inch force sewer main was broken by a private contractor while working on a road project.

The overflow is estimated at 12,300 gallons and ECUA crews responded to the break and made appropriate repairs. The Escambia County Health Department, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and the State Warning were notified.
