War of 1812 Traveling Exhibition: “A Nation Forged by War”

The exhibition is on display through November 2013 in the lobby of the Main Library, 239 North Spring Street.

“A Nation Forged by War” focuses on the prominent roles played by the United States Navy, Marines, and Revenue Cutter Service in protecting the young American republic between 1812 and 1815. The exhibit consists of six full-color panels providing historical highlights, and visitors with smart phones can access additional content by scanning the QR code on each panel. To learn more about the Navy’s contributions to American history, visit the National Museum of the United States Navy online at www.history.navy.mil/museum.

Participation in the club is free and open to all ages and levels of interest.  This weekly club will read the plays aloud and provide explanation of the story. Other activities will include live performances by local actors, guest lectures, movie screenings and possible group travel outings to view regional performances.
