ECAT Bus Accident on Fairfield Drive

On Wednesday, October 2, an Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT) bus was involved in an accident on Fairfield Drive, east of Hollywood Avenue. Another vehicle hit the back of the bus causing minor physical damage to the bus. Florida Highway Patrol, Escambia County Sherriff and ECAT Safety Director were on the scene. The other driver involved was cited while on the scene. At this time, the accident is still under investigation.

Although no serious injuries were reported, EMS transported three bus passengers to Baptist Hospital.

Traffic was delayed briefly and ECAT was able to continue the bus route after the scene was cleared by the authorities.
