Join Coastal Cleanup Teams at Local Beaches September 21

The Gulf Islands National Seashore is seeking volunteers to participate in the annual International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, September 21, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Coordinated by the Ocean Conservancy, the International Coastal Cleanup is a worldwide event that will take place at the following nearby locations:

  • Pensacola Bay at Project Greenshores – Site contact: Beth L. Fugate, (950) 595-0683

  • Pensacola Beach, Park West – Site contact: Sharon Gincauskas, (850) 450-1112

  • Santa Rosa Area  – Opal Beach, Gulf of Mexico
  • Johnson Beach – Meet at picnic area
  • Fort Pickens  – Langdon Beach, Gulf of Mexico

Coastal cleanup volunteers are advised to wear closed-toe shoes, gloves, sunscreen, hats and to bring water to stay hydrated. Park entrance fees will be waived for volunteers assisting with the Coastal Cleanup.
