DEP and FWC To Host Workshop on Living Shorelines and Hatcheries

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will host a workshop Thursday, September 19, at the Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Community Center, 913 ā€œIā€ Street, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the proposed local restoration projects designed to address injury from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill: two living shoreline projects and a new saltwater fish hatchery. 

The group will introduce two possible living shoreline projects proposed for the area and concepts for a new saltwater fish hatchery to enhance recreational fishing opportunities will also be presented.  A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
