Another ECUA Sewer Overflows in Escambia County

Published Sep 9, 2013

On Wednesday, September 4, Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) discharged 2,000 gallons of untreated wastewater at Bauer Road and Cannonade Drive in Escambia County.  This sewer overflow is in addition to the five separate spills that occurred the previous day, Tuesday, September 3, when untreated wastewater was released at various locations totaling 2,400 gallons.

According to ECUA, the overflow was caused by a blown plug in an Air Release Valve (ARV) during maintenance work on the ARV.
