The Greater Pensacola Chamber, Global Business Solutions, Inc. and the University of West Florida College of Business, which are launching a youth entrepreneurship program this fall, will host an information session on their Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) for parents and students Tuesday, September 10.
Designed to empower 6th- to 12th-grade students in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties to start their own successful businesses, YEA! is a national educational program that will kick off for the first time in Greater Pensacola this October. Participants will work closely with local business leaders to cultivate and research business ideas and to write business plans, and upon completion of the program, students will have the chance to pitch their plans to a panel of investors.
In order to offset costs associated with running the program, the Chamber, GBSI and the UWF College of Business are also seeking sponsors to cover tuition scholarships for talented students who may not be able to participate for financial reasons. Benefits of sponsoring include the opportunity for company representatives to participate as a featured guest speaker and judge at the investor panel event, as well as recognition at, and invitations to, all YEA! signature events throughout the year.
The session will take place at the Chamber’s headquarters, 117 W. Garden St., at 6 p.m. Reasonable accommodations will be made upon request for persons requiring special assistance.
