Gulf Islands National Seashore Annual Coastal Cleanup September 21

Gulf Islands National Seashore will host its annual International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, September 21, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Coordinated by the Ocean Conservancy, the International Coastal Cleanup is a worldwide event that will take place at the following nearby locations:

  • Santa Rosa Area – Opal Beach
  • Perdido Key Area – Johnson Beach picnic area
  • Fort Pickens Area – Langdon Beach

Coastal cleanup volunteers are advised to wear closed-toe shoes, gloves, sunscreen and hats and to bring water to stay hydrated. Families, individuals, businesses and community groups can choose their favorite location to register, receive trash bags, data cards and information. Entrance fees will be waived for volunteers assisting with the coastal cleanup.
