Escambia County School District Celebrates Two Groundbreakings

The Escambia County School District will celebrate two groundbreaking ceremonies for the restructures of two district schools next week.

On Wednesday, August 8, a groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Ernest Ward Middle School, 7650 Highway 97, Walnut Hill.  Also on August 8, a second groundbreaking ceremony will be held at A.K. Suter Elementary, 501 Pickens Avenue, Pensacola, at 1 p.m. 

Both construction projects are being funded by half-cent sales tax monies.  It is anticipated that the new structure at A.K. Suter will be open for the 2014-2015 school year; Ernest Ward Middle School’s construction will take approximately two years for completion.
