Bayou Grande Sewer Main Break Prompts Health Alert

Published Jun 6, 2013

The Florida Department of Health in Escambia County (DOH-Escambia) has issued a health alert for the Bayou Grande Marina in response to an Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) sewer main break.

It is estimated 35,000 gallons of wastewater was spilled into Bayou Grande on Tuesday, June 4.  During repairs a second spill occurred at the lift station due to pump trucks being unable to keep up with water flow.  Both spills affected the storm water system into the Bayou.
