Economic Development Trip for Commissioner Valentino

Published May 31, 2013

Escambia County District 2 Commissioner Gene Valentino will take part in an economic development trip to Panama beginning Monday, June 3.

Commissioner Valentino was asked by State Representative Doug Broxson to be part of this trip.

Broxson and other leaders from the State of Florida see Panama as an important partner in future economic development in the coming years. The Panama Canal is currently undergoing a massive expansion that will double its capacity by 2015. Panama is also home aerospace companies that could be interested in the growth of that industry along the Gulf Coast in the coming years.

During his time in Central America, Commissioner Valentino will meet with various business leaders. Commissioner Valentino will discuss the many positive qualities Escambia County has to offer international companies looking to expand their presence in the United States.

Commissioner Valentino, Representative Broxson and the rest of the Florida delegation will be leaving on Monday, June 3 and returning Saturday, June 8.
