- Woodham Middle School student group, Woodham Café Chocolatiers, took first prize as part of The Woodham Vocational Cafeteria Service Program, in the Gulf Coast Kid’s House Annual Chocolate Fest on April 27. The group entered an original recipe, “Chewy Chocolate Caramel Crunch,” and competed against local professional chefs, restaurateurs and food vendors.
- George Stone Technical Center competed in the Skills USA State Competition on April 2 and the following students were medalists in their respective competitions:
o Marine Service Technology: Jason Pack, First Place and qualified for the National Competition
o Marine Service Technology: Ryan Miller, Second Place
o Marine Service Technology: Tyler Thompson, Third Place
o Internetworking: James Bauder, Second Place

- Escambia County and Santa Rosa County 11th and 12th grade students recently participated in a contest for 2013 Law Day theme, “Realizing the Dream – Equality for All,” as chosen by the American Bar Association to give students the opportunity to examine the movement for civil and human rights in America. Winners are:
- First Place – Anna Jackson
- Second Place – Jennifer Werner
- Third Place – Katie Polk
- Students in the J.M. Tate High School "Cantus" Chorus traveled to Tallahassee on May 4 to participate in the “Florida Vocal Association State Music Performance Assessment.” Only choirs who earned a superior rating at the district level MPA were qualified to attend this event.
