Commission to Honor Pensacola Ice Flyers' Championship

Published Apr 18, 2013

The Escambia County Commission will honor the Pensacola Ice Flyers’ championship with a special proclamation during tonight’s Board of County Commission Meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Ice Flyers have played in Escambia County’s Pensacola Bay Center since the team’s inception in 2009. The Ice Flyers have advanced to the playoffs each season and for the first time, in 2013, the team earned the President’s Cup on Sunday, April 14, winning the Southern Professional League Championship.

The Commission is set to adopt a proclamation recognizing the week of April 14 as “Champions Week” in Escambia County in recognition of the owners, coaches, players, staff and fans of Pensacola Ice Flyers.

The Escambia County Commission is encouraging local media and the community to attend tonight’s meeting to show support for the Pensacola Ice Flyers accomplishments and contributions to the community.
